Choose your account subdomain
Every ShareFile account has a unique web address. For example, in https://contoso.sharefile.com, contoso is the subdomain.
Your subdomain is part of your ShareFile URL and sign-in links. It may also appear in shared links and communications, and it helps identify your organization.
Choose a subdomain that matches your company name, is easy to spell, and is easy to share by phone or email. For example, use contoso, contosotech, or smithfinancial. Avoid temporary or hard-to-remember names, such as contoso12345, testcompany, or newcompanytemp.
Select Check Availability to confirm that your selected name is available. A name might be unavailable because another ShareFile account already uses it.

You can add up to three subdomains to your account after you create it. For more information, see Edit subdomains.
Choose the region for your account
Notes:
- Once you select a region, it is permanent and cannot be changed.
- Consider performance optimizations when choosing your region.
- Storage is provisioned to the closest GEO based on the region selected.
By selecting either region, you are selecting the following:
-
You choose to have your top level domain as .com or .eu.
-
You choose to have your data stored in either the United States (default) or in Europe.
Do you plan to store or maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) in this service?
Selecting Yes to this will create a ShareFile HIPAA account. To have a HIPAA account you must have a Premium ShareFile account.
