Workflow Automation: Create Item

Use Create Item to create a new Item in another Podio App.

Start the flow by selecting the Trigger and add any Filters required.

Add the Create Item action.

Select the App for the new Item to be created in. All required Podio fields will be added to the action automatically. Select Add Field to select more fields from the Podio App to populate data into.

Additional Options include:

Silent - This Item will not be bumped up in the Activity stream and notifications will not be generated. - Authentication - This Update can be set to use the App or an Admin Member to make the Update. - Hook Event - Option to trigger a hook event, thus triggering another flow if set (turned OFF by default).

Complete field data using the Token Selector for unique Podio data.

Note: If a flow is not creating items as it’s supposed to, it’s usually because the create action does not give values to all fields marked as “required” in the app you’re creating the new items in. For some odd reason, Podio’s API doesn’t report if a create fails for this reason.

Have a Read-Only App? When you adjust your Podio App Settings so that members cannot add or edit items, other members have Read-Only access.

In the past, Workflow Automation required these options to be unchecked in order to complete workflows. Now you can change the User Authentication to the App Creator and keep the App Read-Only without having to make extra user controlling flows.
