Service Users
What is a Service User?
A Service User is a type of user like an external client or employee but is reserved for Podio Support and our trusted Partners. This allows you to give Support or your Partner access to workspaces without having to pay for their seat.
Need a reminder of Member roles? See this article.
Add a Service User
To add a Partner:
- Go to your Workspace(s) and click the +INVITE button and select Clients.
-
Type in your Partner’s email address and click Add.
This will give them access to the Workspace but you’ll need to take one more step to give them Admin privileges. This extra step is to help ensure your account stays secure and nobody is automatically given full rights to your account. To give Admin privileges, follow the next set of steps:
- Click on the wrench icon at workspace level and click on Manage Members
- Find your Partner on your user list and click on the Actions drop-down to the right. Here is where you can make them Admin, giving them more capabilities. This also includes the capability to build or edit flows for you in Workflow Automation.
*Note: this is where you will also see their “Service user” title. This is a free seat for you so you do not pay for your Partner or Support’s license on your organization.
Once you Make Admin, your Member list will reflect their new Role as “Admin member”
Remove a Service User
To remove a Partner from your workspace:
-
Click the wrench icon and select Manage Members.
-
Find the Partner in the list and click the Actions drop down, then select Remove from Workspace. You’ll need to do this in each workspace you gave them access to.
