ShareFile offers trial accounts with limited previews of higher-teared features to allow users to experience premium capabilities before purchasing a plan. Access to these features depends on the trial type and the plan chosen after the trial ends, with various conditions for continuation or loss of access.

Advisory:

ShareFile provides a one-time free trial offer. ShareFile reserves the right to terminate your free trial before the specified end date or require you to switch to a paid plan to continue usage of the account.
If you have previously created a free trial, you may be required to convert your free trial to a paid account, or your free trial account may be canceled.
If ShareFile determines that you are using your free trial for a non-business purpose or in a potentially illegal or unethical way, your free trial may be terminated without notice. ShareFile also reserves the right to terminate your free trial for other reasons not outlined above, at the discretion of ShareFile.

Feature Previews for ShareFile Trials

Premium - As a part of your Premium trial, you receive a limited preview into higher-tiered ShareFile features. To unlock these features, you will need to purchase a Premium plan at the end of your trial. If you purchase an Advanced plan, your preview into the higher-tiered features rolls over into your paid plan:

Industry Advantage - As a part of your Industry Advantage trial, you have access to ShareFile’s Income Tax Return Solution designed to streamline tax engagements for Accountants to save time during the busy season. To unlock solutions, you will need to purchase an Industry Advantage plan at the end of your trial. If you purchase a Premium account, you can continue using the Income Tax Solution for 30 days after which you will lose access. If you purchase an Advanced Plan at the end of your Industry Advantage trial, you will lose access to solutions upon completing your purchase.

Virtual Data Room - As a part of your 7-day Virtual Data Room trial, you have access to some specific features such as watermarking and click trails. To unlock these features, you will need to purchase a VDR plan at the end of your trial. You will not be able to convert your VDR trial into any other ShareFile account type.

System requirements

ShareFile is accessible by any computer with a supported web browser and an internet connection. To use all features and functions of the ShareFile web application, we recommend the following browser types:

Microsoft Edge - Latest version

Mozilla Firefox - Latest version

Google Chrome - Latest version

Apple Safari - Latest version

Note:

Due to issues with displaying certain folders and menus, the ShareFile web application might not be accessible via Safari in Private Browsing mode.

Create a trial account

Type ShareFile.com in your supported browser.

Select Get Started.

The ShareFile Plans and Pricing page displays.

Select Try Free in the plan that you want.

Enter your email address in the field.

Select Create New Account.

You receive an email from ‘mail@sf-notifications.com’ with an authentication code.

Enter the code in the requested field and select Verify Code.

Complete the requested information in the Tell us a bit about yourself screen and click the box to confirm that you agree to the ShareFile End User Agreement.

Select Next.

Select your subdomain. You can create your own or choose from the suggestions.

Note:

You’ll use this subdomain to access your ShareFile account in browser. See Account creation - Subdomain to learn more.

Select Continue. The system message screen displays stating that your ShareFile trial account is starting.

Upon completion you are required to create a ShareFile password. Select and confirm your password, then click Create password to continue.

The ShareFile support security question screen displays. Select a security question and provide the answer.

You’re ShareFile dashboard displays. Welcome to ShareFile!

ShareFile Trial Limitations

Anonymous sharing is disabled (Require Login on Download enabled).

Daily Email Limit is 20.

Total storage capacity is restricted to 10GB.

File upload limit is restricted to 100 files.

Anti-virus strictness is set to 2.

Two-Step Verification is not available.

ShareFile Templates are not supported when using Trial accounts.
