ShareFile authentication - One-time codes
ShareFile one-time codes provide a secure and convenient authentication method for client users, enhancing both security and usability. This feature, when enabled by an administrator, applies to all client users on the account, standardizing the sign-in process.

Enable one-time codes for authentication
Note:
Prior to enabling one-time codes, please note that:

- One-time codes will not prompt for ShareFile multi-factor authentication as that is only tied to ShareFile username/password flow.
To enable one-time codes authentication for client users:
- From your ShareFile dashboard, navigate to Settings > Admin settings > Security > Sign in policy.
- Scroll down to the One-time codes section.
- Select Edit. A drawer opens on the right side of the screen providing you with the option to choose who can use one-time codes:
- No one (disabled)
- Client contacts only.
