Learn more - improved ShareFile log-in page
The ShareFile log-in experience is changing to provide better flexibility for users.
Why we made this change
- The new authentication flow addresses several user experience issues that existed in the old authentication flow identified in customer feedback surveys.
- This new authentication experience will provide significant improvements to load time of the page.
- This change is built on a new design framework allowing for a more universal experience with better accessibility.
- The new backend framework and design framework allowing for future releases to provide more flexible and secure authentication methods.
Legacy authentication page experience
What’s the same
- Users will continue to use the same methods to authenticate into ShareFile as they have used in the legacy authentication page experience.
- Users will not be required to make any changes to their email/username, password or 2-factor authentication methods to use this new experience.
What’s different
- The log-in section of the page will now be anchored on the right instead of centered on the page. Accounts with custom branding may need to update their log-in background image.
- Users will enter their email address on the first screen and then be presented with available authentication options for their user.
- Accounts with single sign-on (SSO) will no longer see a split log-in experience but will see an option for SSO after entering their email.
- The new authentication experience will now be performed on auth.sharefile.io/[subdomain]. Users will still want to visit and bookmark their [subdomain].sharefile.com URL but may need to update their password managers to work with the new auth.sharefile.io/subdomain URL.
Where you may see these changes
These changes will only be available on the ShareFile web application initially but the other points of authentication including desktop tools, email tools, and other apps, into ShareFile will be upgraded over the coming months to leverage this new authentication experience.
