Why did I receive the email “Login from a new ShareFile tool”

If a user logs in from a new device, tool, or from a suspicious location, they will receive an email notification. This email will contain login details such as operating system, date, and time.

If the user does not recognize this information, we recommend to reset the password immediately.

How does ShareFile recognize a new device?

Each time a user logs in, the ShareFile platform will generate a unique cookie for the local browser or tool to store. When logging in again from the same device, browser, or tool, it will recognize the cookie and not trigger the email to be sent.

Why do I keep getting an email from the same device?

Device recognition is based on a cookie stored in the ShareFile tool. If you use a different browser, incognito mode, clear your browser cache, use a virtual desktop, or reinstall a tool, you will receive the email again from the same device.
