Add comments to a Document Request

Client contact (external user)
You can add and view comments under each document item. The comments appear in the ‘Comments tab’ within the project.

To add a comment:
- Open the Project in the ShareFile web app.
- Go to the Document requests tab and open the relevant document request.
- Select the specific request item (or open the document request itself).
- Navigate to the Comments section.
- Type your comment and hit Enter.
NOTES:
Both team members and clients can respond to comments(if permitted).
Comments persist in the project history for audit tracking.
Mentions (@username) and file uploads in comments are not yet supported.
