Editing templates

ShareFile users have the ability to edit existing templates directly within the Templates Library.

Note:

Currently, tables that are part of the template content cannot be edited within the template editor. If a template includes tables, users will not see or be able to modify them.

How to Edit a Template

Use the following information to edit a template.

  1. Select a template from the Templates Library.

  2. Select Edit.

    The Template Editor screen displays.

  3. From the Template Editor you can perform the following actions:

    • Rename Template: Modify the template name by selecting on the name field and entering a new name.

    • Change Description: Update the description of the template by editing the description field.

    • View and Edit Included Items:

      • Review all the document requests and information requests included in the template.
      • Add New Requests: Use the Add button to include additional document requests or information requests.
      • Edit Existing Requests: select on an existing request to modify its content or details.
      • Remove Requests: You can remove any request by selecting it and selecting the delete icon.

Industry Advantage Customers

For users with Industry Advantage, this template editing capability is also available from your installed solution.

  1. Navigate to your Solution Dashboard

  2. Create a new engagement.

    The default template is included in your solution.

Duplicate or Change Templates

  • Select Duplicate to create a new copy of the default template that you can fully customize and make your own.

  • Select Change to choose a custom template created by you or your team. When you select Change, a new screen will display a list of templates available in your account.

Create and Share Templates

  • When you create a new template, it is private by default, and only you can see it.

  • To share the template with your team, select Edit to open the template editor and manage access.

  • When you select Edit, the template editor will launch, allowing you to rename the template, change the description, add or edit document and information requests, and more like the standard template editor.
